Together with basil, oregano contributes largely to the distinctive flavour of many Italian and Greek dishes. This herb pairs very well with tomato, olives, capers, lemon, and olive oil. Add to pizza and pasta sauces, Greek salad dressing, and grilled lamb or vegetables.
